WHAT’S BEHIND THE TECH LAYOFFS IN 2022?
සියලුම තාක්ෂණික දැවැන්තයින් (එක්සත් ජනපදය) ඔවුන්ගේ වැඩිපුර කාර්ය මණ්ඩලය ඉවත් කරමින් සිටී. මොකක්ද රහස?
Well this has been cooking for a while…
There were extra hiring anticipating COVID lockdowns, many systems had to scale up, enhance, and repurpose to fit into the new normal. Also, the travel ban reduced the number of skilled visiting workers and demanded new hires on a proximity basis. Now the wave is gone all are left with excess staff.
Software systems take more heads to develop quickly, but once they’re up and running, they can run with less than 1/3 of the heads needed to build them. Also, when there is nothing else to do after the Covid, the excess recruitments due to Covid has no purpose either.
Many bosses learned this harsh secret by running the company with less staff during the lockdowns.
So the reality was hiding under the ashes, which some bosses were afraid to do. And the business loss caused by Covid for smaller companies.
The silence was broke by Elon Twitter take over and he threw stones breaking the ice. He fired 50% or 3700 Twitter employees at once for three months’ salary let the woods on fire .
Elon seem to catch many birds with one stone. He triggered the Twitter layoff setting a tech layoff trend. Now others also put extra talent out for good, it will be easy for him to grab and hire few more talented to rethink Twitter from scratch from the pool of other tech firing such as from rival Facebook.
All triggered this layoff trend.

ඇත්තටම කම්පැනි මිස්නිස්සු අඩුවෙන් දුවන්න පුලුවන් කුප්‍රකට රහස බොහෝ බොස්ලා ලොක්ඩවුන් එකේදී ඉගෙන ගත්තේය. සංවර්ධිත සිස්ටම්ස් දිගටම ක්‍රියාත්මක කිරීමට අවශ්‍ය අඩු පිරිසකි. එසේම කොවිඩ් හේතුවෙන් අතිරික්ත බඳවා ගැනීම් ද යන්න කියනවා ඇරෙන්න පසුව වෙන වැඩක් නැත.
ලාබ අලාබ ගිණුම හොඳින් තියාගෙන වඩා හොඳ කාර්ය මණ්ඩලයක අඩක් හෝ 1/3 ක් කර සහ freelance staff කිහිප දෙනෙකු සමඟ ඔවුන්ට සැබවින්ම කම්පනිය වඩා හොඳින් කළමනාකරණය කළ හැකි බව ප්‍රධානීන් තේරුම් ගත්හ.
මේ ප්රවණතාවය අළු යට හැංගෙමින් තිබිණි. ඉන්නා සමහර ලොක්කන් කරන්න බය වී සිටි මේ යථාර්තය, ඉලෝන් ටුවිටරේට කඩා වැටී ඒ දෙඹරයට ගල් ගැසීය. මාස තුනක පඩියට එයා එකවර ටුවිටර් සේවකයින් 50% නැත්නම් 3700 එලියට දැම්මේය. දැන් වැඩේ හරිය.
